4. Equipment Description:
This production line adopts multiple-station progressive mould to punch the finished lead strip continuously to make the continuous grid, it is applicable to massive producion of continuous grid. This punching line not only has the advantage of high production efficiency, perfect grids uniformity, compact alloy structure, strong corrosion resistance, lower labor intensity, but also has the following incomparable advantages:
* It can produce grid with complete frame;
* It can produce different types of grid, such as rectangle, radiative type, oblique type, there is transition fillet in the wire node.
* It can realize surface knurling or textured surface; as per the requirement, postprocessing can be added to change the wire cross section shape, to strengthern the active material's adhesive strength and increase the active material's paste volume.
* It can realize punching grid with any size within the machinable range;
* It can realize single-panel continuous punching,double-panel continuous punching, even multiple-panel continuous punching;
* It is suitable for lead-calcium alloy, lead-tin alloy, lead-antimony alloy.
The punching line adopts online operation of multiple machines, each online machine matches the control by the sag feedback, this mode can individualize each machine's function, which reduces the failure rate and be easy to maintain and adjust, this mode also can make the configuration of the production line more flexible to meet the production requirement for multiple models in battery industry. The multiple-station progressive punching mould adopts modular design, each module can maintain and change individually. The punch and die adopts assembled structure, easy to maintain and change. The module design and assembled mold design greatly improves the service life of mould and decrease the maintenance cost.
2.1 Expanding Cone Type Unwinding Machine: this machine adopts expanding cone type expanding-shrinking cone head, which will automatically expand and shrink driven by the cylinder, and equipped with loader driven by cylinder for loading and unloading. It is used for unwinding the lead strip with the matched speed for the next procedure.
2.2 Lead Strip Welding Mechanism: it can weld two rolls lead strip together, realizing the continuous punching for each roll of lead strip.
2.3 Leveling Buffer Machine: it consists of lead strip levelling device and lead strip buffer device, used for levelling the lead strip and has the buffer device to eliminate the belt fluctuation which caused by the interval feeding movement of the lead strip feeding machine, ensuring the punching work can proceed successfully.
The lead strip levelling device is a mechanism with 7 rollers (4 down and 3 up), the diameter of levelling roller is 38mm, the leveling thickness is 0.5-1.5mm, the leveling width is 70-350mm. The device adopts hatchback type structure controlled by double cylinders, which is convenient for the lead strip feeding. The guiding roller and upper roller can be adjusted separately, which can control the levelling state of lead strip effectively.
Lead strip buffer device adopts inverted U type structure, which can effetively absorb the lead strip shake caused by interval feeding through the U shape change. 
2.4 Punching System: it consists of feeding machine, circular double-point high speed precise press machine, multiple-station progressive punching mould. Feeding machine is installed in the front of circular double-point high speed precise press machine, it is used to transport the lead strip to multiple-station progressive punching mould with setting feeding step distance. The Intermittent feeding coordinates with the punching of press machine by machnical mechanism, the lead strip will become continuous strip grid after being multiple-step punching by the punching mould.
2.4.1 The feeding machine is high precision servo feeding sytem, with the advantage of  precise feeding, high speed feeding, good reliability, less malfunction rate, etc. It also has the function of automatic loosing and compress for the lead strip, adjustable loosing angle and pressing force.
   2.4.2 The multiple-station progressive punching mould is used for punching the lead strip to become grid by punching way and can finish the procedure of embossing, bend, punching lug and scrap, to make the lead strip into continuous punching grid in accordance with the design requirement. It has multiple individual functional modules, function of each module is relatively independent, it can be replaced and maintained separately, the maintenance of the mould is convenient because of the modularization structure design. It greatly reduces the mould adjusting time and save the mould cost.
     Multiple-station progressive punching mould includes our unique grid bend module. The module can change the punching grid with flat type into three dimensional distribution by bending, on the premise of without increasing the grid weight, the paste volume can be increased, enhancing the combination strength of grid and lead paste, so that the grid is more suitable for high pasting ratio type of power battery plate.
The punch and die of punching adopts assembled structure, each punch can be changed individually, the user can sharp and change any punch due to accident damage, which greatly improves the service life, reduces the maintenance cost of mould.
2.4.3 The circular double-point high speed precise press machine can keep working precisely in the circumstance of high speed, high load and long working time. It is equipped with dynamic balance device, electric slider adjusting mould device, digital enclosed height indicator, hydraulic mould lifting rail and overload protection.
2.5 Horizontal Winding Machine: It is used for winding the continuous punching grid vertically for next procedure.
2.6 Electric Control System: it is a fully automatic control system which consists of feedback and control components like human machine interface, PLC, frequency converter, photoelectric switch, and angular displacement sensor. It realizes speed matching and movement coordination for every machine in the punching line. This system has high automaticity, good stability, human-machine interaction interface with imagine is easy to operate and reliable.
